(Aug. 3-7)



• Firefighters responded to outside rubbish fires on Alice Street at Elm Avenue and Hill Street and twice in a park at Poplar and McCoy streets.

• Firefighters responded to traffic accidents at Knollwood Drive and Ga. Highway 27 East and on Ga. Highway 30 West.

• Firefighters responded to a structure fire at a Douglas Circle resident. The cause of the fire is yet undetermined but it started in the bedroom on a bed.

• Firefighters responded to a report of a gas odor at a Douglas Circle residence.

• Firefighters responded to a structure fire, started by cooking, at an Eastview Drive residence.

• Firefighters responded to 16 calls for medical assistance.

• Firefighters responded to a structure fire at a North Spring Creek Road, Cobb residence.

• Firefighters responded to Patton Drive and Webber Road where they removed a tree from the roadway.

• Firefighters responded to Broadmoor Realty, 302 E. Forsyth St., to a detector activation. There was no fire.

• Firefighters responded to a building fire at a Lakeview Circle resident which involved a sofa and chair in a bedroom.

Arrest

• Stephen James Mobly, 41, of 322 U.S. Highway 280 West, Americus is charged with unlawful use of license plate, no proof of insurance and driving while license is suspended (third offense.)



Incidents

• A disturbance was reported at a Forrest Street residence.

• A hit and run traffic accident was reported in a parking lot on South Dudley Street.

• Criminal trespass was reported at a South Jackson Street residence.

• A domestic disturbance was reported at Magnolia Manor, 2001 S. Lee St.

• Several pictures, a chest of drawers, some clothing and several food items were reported stolen from a Sun Valley Drive residence.

• An injured person was reported at Dollar General — Perlis Plaza, 1412 E. Forsyth St.

Arrests

• Lazelle Jones, 47, of 901 Park Row, Americus is charged with probation violation and 13 counts of deposit account fraud. He was jailed.

• Tavares Reynolds, 26, of 722 N. Lee St., Americus is charged with probation violation. He was jailed.

• Tropeca Smith, 35, of 259-A Lonnie Lane, Americus is charged with possession of marijuana, and was jailed.

• Ray Gardner of 234-B W. Lester St., Americus is charged with possession of cocaine. He was jailed.

• Jennifer Nixon, 34, of 12-4 N. Jackson St., Americus is charged with possession of marijuana. She was jailed.



Citation

• Brian Blaine, 20, of 600 Ga. Highway 49 South, Americus is charged with seat belt violation.



Incidents

• An inmate from a work detail reportedly recovered a rifle on Brady Road.

• Theft was reported at a LaCrosse Road residence.

• A juvenile problem was reported at a Rockdale Subdivision Loop residence.

• A domestic disturbance was reported at a Young’s Mill Road, Plains residence.
