AMERICUS — Americus



Big Bethel Missionary Baptist Church

Deacon and Deaconess services will be held at 3 p.m. Dec. 11. The Rev. Robert Taylor  and the Beulahland Baptist Church, Cordele will be special guest. Everyone is welcome.



Union Tabernacle Baptist Church

Revival services will be held at 7 p.m. nightly Tueseday Dec. 6-8. Pastor Timothy French, of Macon is the guest revivalist. The public is invited.



Eastside Baptist Church,

Located on the hill, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 280 and Ga. Highway 27, the church is in the process of building a new sanctuary. As a fundraiser, tickets are now on sale for fully cooked, 5-8 lb. Boston Butt roasts to be picked up between 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 17 at the church. Reserve your fully cooked Boston Butt roast by calling

Fellowship Baptist Church

"Emmanuel," an advent worship service of seasonal songs and readings, is presented at 7 p.m. Dec. 11. All are welcome.



Bethesda Baptist Church

A Christmas Musical is at 4 p.m. Dec. 11 featuring the Bethesda Combined Choir and the Bethesda Youth Choir. Guest choirs include Big Bethel Baptist Church, Friendship Baptist Church, Mount Olive Baptist Church, Restoration Church and Union Tabernacle Baptist Church, all of Americus. Project Angel Tree families are special guests. Pastor DeRienzia Johnson and the congregation invite the public.





Buena Vista

Mt. Zion AME Church

The church family will celebrate our annual Missionary Day with a 100 women in white standing strong for Jesus program. This service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 18. We are calling for all churches to send five of their missionaries dressed in white to stand with us in this service and we are asking each church to represent their church with a pledge of $20. Missionaries let us stand strong for Jesus in this service. We thank you for your participation. Everyone is invited to come out and join in this celebration with us.

Guest speaker will be the Rev. Tabatha Walton, pastor on New St. Mathis AME Church, Cuthbert and St. Paul AME Church, Omaha. She is also the Southwest Georgia 6th Episcopal District AME Church School Superintendent. We are looking forward to enjoying Jesus with you in this celebration.



DeSoto



Friendship Baptist Church

Invite you to join with us as we celebrate the senior citizens of our community with a dinner and praises to our Lord at 4 p.m. At 11 a.m. December 11 regular services will be held. Please come be our guest.



Ellaville



Tabernacle of Faith

The 10th annual Christmas Ball will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the multi-purpose building in Ellaville. Tickets are $10 per person. There will be refreshments, entertainment, prizes and more. Contact Ellen Battle for more information. Special guest gospel group The Fantasitc Gospel Sons from Montezuma will be on hand.



Jerusalem Baptist Church

Everyone is invited to the Jerusalem Baptist Church as they observe Guest Day at 11 a.m. December 11. Sunday School begins at 10 a.m. Thank You for your presence and participation.

Zion Hill Baptist Church

There will be a gospel sing at 4 p.m. Sunday Dec. 11. All surrounding choirs and groups are invited to render music. Everyone is invited.

County Line Baptist Church

The annual Candlelight Services will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday Dec. 18. Pastor Ronrica Gordon and Macedonia and New Providence Baptist Churches will be in charge of the service. The public is invited. Refreshments will be served. Our colors are Green and God.



St. John Baptist Church

The Church and Pastor Anniversary are observed Dec. 18 with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m.

At 2:30 p.m., the Rev. W. W. Wilson and Oak Grove Baptist Church family of Cordele will be in charge of the service. Dinner will be served.



Bibleway Fellowship Center Inc.

Founders’ Day is observed at noon Sunday in honor of their founder  the late Pastor Eugene Cooper and co-founder Delorn Cooper.  Speaker is Elder Andrea D. Oates. Pastor Johnie Evans and the congregation invite everyone. Dinner will be served.  



Preston

Shiloh Baptist Church

The Mount Zion Weston Association and COCE Youth Department practice for the Christmas play at 4 p.m. Sunday at the church, Ga. Highway 41 South. All youth of various community churches are invited to participate along with the pastors. The Play "Someone's Knocking at My Door" is performed at 3 p.m. Dec. 17 and the public is invited.

 

Smithville



Piney Grove Baptist Church

Rev. Grover’s pastor anniversary will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Friday Dec. 9 with the Rev. Solomon Loud and New Beginning Baptist Church of Albany in charge. Anniversary services will climax at 11 a.m. Sunday during regular services with the Rev. Gary C. Baker of Greater Faith Baptist Church of Stone Mountain. There will only be an 11 a.m. service this Sunday. Dinner will be served. We look forward to the Christian Fellowship.
