Ellaville Scout House renamed ‘John Gill House’
The yellow Scout houses beside the Ellaville United Methodist Church has been renamed as the “John Gill House,” in honor of a very special and generous friend to all of us. John was the late president of the Central Bank of Georgia.

Hope Circle hosts ladies luncheon
Hope Circle hosted a lovely ladies luncheon at 11 a.m. on March 31 in the Social Hall of the church .
As guests entered, Michele Gattis welcomed everyone, asking each lady to sign for the drawing that would be held later during the luncheon.
The Social Hall was decorated in an Easter theme. Tulips were used throughout the Social Hall. The colors of the flowers were yellow, purple and pink.
The tables were covered with white tablecloths, with pink, lavender and yellow place mats; the white napkins had tulips on them which highlighted the place setting.
Each table had a lovely arrangement in the center of the table: a small Easter bucket. The bucket was green with Easter eggs and rabbits painted on the buckets with pink, yellow, purple and mint green tulips placed inside the buckets. The tables were arranged in an L-shape.
Across the counter were three large arrangements of assorted tulips; palm trees were also used.
Fran Kinservik asked the blessing.
After lunch Jennie Peterson and Linda Hamsley were guests. They sang several songs and Jennie did a denotation. Rebecca Royal joined in one song. Jennie plays the guitar and piano.
Raffle tickets were sold for a beautiful twin-sized quilt. The top was donated by Fay Heath and Lettie Royal quilted it. The quilt was won by Betty Teasley.
Marcia McClung and Rene Rix did the drawing for the door prizes that were placed as centerpieces on the tables.
They served a lunch of chicken salad, Asian slaw, congealed salad, butter pickle, salad tomatoes, crackers and for dessert cupcakes with white icing and on top a colored flower . The flowers on the cup cakes were placed in a tulip vase.
Marcia McClung decorated the tables.
There were 42 that attended this special luncheon.
