Medical offices closed

At the beginning of 2009, we had four medical offices here in Ellaville; now we only have one. The three that closed were Flint River Health Care of Montezuma, Ellaville Primary Center and the Ellaville Internal Medicine; All closed before Christmas.

We have one doctor’s office here, Dr. Harold Holloway, whose office is on Ebenezer Road.

I was speaking with Dr. Holloway and he told me he would be here in Ellaville to serve Ellaville-Schley County as well as other counties. He was born and raised here in Ellaville-Schley County and loves our city and county, and the people here love him as well. He employs five people in his office.

This is to inform everyone that Dr. Holloway is here to serve, and we are not without a doctor or medical help. We are blessed to have Dr. Harold Holloway with us. Every community needs a doctor. Thank you Dr. Holloway for your love and care that you have for our community. Contact Dr. Holloway’s office at 937-5800.

Winner of the Christmas quilt

The Ellaville-Schley County Senior Citizens Center raffled a lovely lavender and purple quilt during Christmas. The quilt was made Lettie Royal, who is a master quilter. All materials were donated for this quilt.

The winners of the quilt were Jack and Sandra Kearby. They were proud to have won this lovely quilt.

Clothes drive

The director of Ellaville-Schley County Senior Citizen Center, Carleen Beckwith, wants everyone to know that the Senior Center is collecting slightly used clothes for three nursing homes in Ideal Montezuma and Bryanville. There are so many residents that don’t have anyone to see about them, and they need clothing. The clothing drive continues until Feb. 25.

Drop off your clothes donation at the Ellaville City Center next to the City Hall. Ask for Carleen Beckwith. For more information call Carleen at 937-2001.
