• A brush fire was reported on Eastview Drive. Firefighters found 1,200 square feet of brush and pine straw burning, and extinguished it with 500 gallons of water.
• Firefighters assisted EMS on Cherokee, Elliot, Faith, Felton and North Lee streets and on Kings Way.
• A traffic accident was reported on East Forsyth Street.
• Overheated wires were reported on Smith Street. The complainant said they suspected a hair dryer. Firefighters found no hazards.
• A false alarm was reported on Adderton Street.
• A contained cooking fire was reported on Country Club Drive. It was out when firefighters arrived, but firefighters checked the scene and ventilated the structure. The complainant said he’d been cooking corn chips in his oven, which caught fire.

Arrests
• Shavenn Quentez Hawkins, 22, of 420 S. Hampton St., Americus, is charged with driving while license suspended or revoked, failure to obey signs or control devices, seat belt violation, no valid license plate, obstruction, and city probation and was jailed.
• Valerie Williams, age unknown, of 214 Elliott St., Americus is charged with disorderly conduct.

• A burglary was reported on Bessie Mays Circle. Foreign monetary coins worth $50 were taken.
• Criminal trespass and harassing phone calls were reported on Jefferson Street.

• Theft by taking was reported on Bozeman Circle. A Chopper style pink girls’ bicycle worth $10 was taken.

• Animal cases were reported on Beale and East Lamar streets and on U.S. Highway 19 North.
• A mental/demented person was reported at Burger King on East Lamar Street and on North Jackson Street.

• Theft by taking was reported on Clara Drive. A La Jolla blue beach cruiser bicycle with white wall tires worth $50 was taken.
• Theft by shoplifting was reported at Chevron Food Mart on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. A 12-pack of bottled Bud Light beer worth $9.99 was taken.
• Aggravated assault was reported on West Lester Street.
• Criminal trespassing were reported at Cripple Creek Apartments on Knollwood Drive, on Peachtree and on South Lee streets.
• Entering an auto and criminal trespassing were reported on North Jackson Street. A dash stereo system and a woofer, tweeter and amplifier worth $400 were taken.
• Theft by taking was reported on South Dudley Street. A five-speed bicycle was taken.
• A hit and run was reported on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
• Theft by shoplifting was reported at Dollar General on West Jefferson Street. A wireless black horizontal cell phone case worth $6 was taken.

• Earnest Eugene Gilliam, 45, of 190 Singletary Road, Cordele is charged with possession of cocaine, and was jailed.
• Selvin Evilio Martinez-Mejia, 25, of 140 Lexington Drive, Americus is charged with driving while unlicensed and misrepresenting identity of vehicle, and was jailed.
• Lee Merritt, 34, of 83 A Dixon Drive, Americus is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.
• Charles Anthony Patterson, 42, of 190 Singletary Road, Cordele is charged with possession of cocaine and crossing state/county guard lines with weapons, intoxicants or drugs without consent, and was jailed.
• Tracy Wilson Snipes, 40, of 706 Varsity Drive, Americus is charged with deposit account fraud/bad checks $499 or less, and was released on bond.
• Freddie Lee Trice, 52, of 205 Bayhill Drive, Americus is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.
• Jamarcus Jamale Williams, 19, of 218 South Dudley St., Americus is charged with theft by taking and theft by deception, and was released on bond.
