AMERICUS —
Americus Fire and Emergency Services
• Firefighters assisted EMS on Elm, Harrold and Oglethorpe avenues, Douglas and Starlight circles and on Bay, Jefferson, East Lamar and Mayo streets.
• An outside rubbish fire was reported on South Lee Street. A firefighter noticed the fire, notified the resident of the no burn ordinance and the fire was extinguished.
• A vehicle hit a pedestrian on Horton Drive. No serious injuries were reported.
• A traffic accident with injuries was reported on East Lamar Street. One car had heavy damage to its driver’s side with about 3-4 inches of intrusion into its cab. The other vehicle was moved away and not observed, but the driver complained of no injuries. EMS told firefighters they didn’t need assisting. Three people were in the vehicle that had been moved away, and one had minor injuries.
• A cooking fire was reported on Lonnie Lane. When firefighters arrived, the kitchen fire had been extinguished by the resident. Firefighters used positive pressure ventilation to remove the smoke.

Arrests
• Alvin Denton Edwards, 45, of 222 Southern Trace Way, Rockmart is charged with speeding and DUI refusal, and was released on bond.
• Jarvis Jermaine Hardy, 23, of 720 Harris St., 15, Americus is charged with using obscene, abusive or profane language, and was jailed.
• A juvenile was arrested for being unruly on Brooklyn Terrace.
• Reginald Charles Mitchell Jr. of 106 Garden Lane, Americus is charged with simple battery and affray.
• Shaneice L. McCoy of 397 Three Bridges Road, Americus is charged with no driver’s license.
• Quontavis Sims, 17, of 415 Poplar St., Americus is charged with no driver’s license, collision with an unattended vehicle, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and escape, and was jailed.
• Nikki Gene Smith of 216 Columbia Avenue, Americus is charged with consumption, possession by a minor and public intoxication.
• Cody Scott White, 21, of 524 Trotman Road, Americus is charged with failure to yield while turning left and DUI, and was released on bond.
• Adrian Whitehead, 20, of 730 South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, 2A, Americus is charged with obstructing or hindering persons making emergency telephone calls, and was released on bond.
Incidents
• A burglary was reported on Felder Street. A 19-inch color TV worth $40 was taken.
• Harassing phone calls were reported on Anthony Drive and on Mayo Street.
• Entering an auto was reported at the Reese Park Economic Center on Elm Avenue. Five dollars in silver change was taken.
• Theft by taking and criminal trespass were reported at various locations in Americus. Damage to newspaper boxes occurred.
• A domestic problem was reported on South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and on Anthony Drive.
• Interference with custody was reported on Lonnie Lane.
• A burglary was reported on Brannon Avenue. A Sony Play Station III, a Microsoft XBox 630, an Acer Aspire 5,100 with a cracked, gray screen and various XBox and PS3 games were taken.
• Theft by taking was reported at Wal-Mart on East Lamar Street. A black Verizon Droid X cell phone with a hard, black case was taken.
• Theft by taking was reported on North Mayo Street. A red motor-driven push lawn mower with no gas tank and a red and black plastic cover were taken.
• A burglary was reported on Knollwood Drive. A Vizio 42-inch flat screen TV worth $750 was taken.
• Criminal trespass was reported on North Lee Street.
• A burglary was reported on Bozeman Circle. A case of Bud Light, Corona and Heineken beer worth $50, a half a gallon of Amsterdam Liquor worth $35 and a fifth of Ciroc Vodka, Conjure and gray Goose Vodka worth $110 were taken.
• A hit and run accident was reported on Manhattan Street.
• Theft by shoplifting was reported at Diya Foods on West Church Street.
• Assault battery was reported at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center on East Forsyth Street.
• Battery (domestic violence) and simple assault were reported on Academy Street.
• Theft by shoplifting was reported at Family Dollar on Manhattan Street. An RCA headphone set worth $5 was taken and recovered.
• Theft by taking was reported on Lonnie Lane.
• Aggravated assault and battery were reported on Bay Street.
• Theft by taking was reported on Winn Street. A GE air conditioner window unit was taken.
• Entering an auto was reported on West Church Street. A Georgia driver’s license, a Fossil wallet worth $10, a Region’s Bank Visa credit card, a Region’s Bank Visa debit card, a Valdosta State University staff identification card, a Valdosta State University student identification card, a Samsung cell phone with Verizon wireless service worth $30, a Bank of America debit card, a Chevron gas card, a Marriott Rewards Visa card and a multi-colored stripped purse worth $20 were taken.
• Theft by taking and criminal trespassing were reported at Chevron Food Mart on East Lamar Street.
• Restraint of dogs and prohibition against nuisances were reported on Georgia Avenue.
• A burglary was reported on Laurel Circle. A Dell 46-inch TV with a stand attached worth $2,000, a Dell laptop worth $1,000, a Sanyo 19-inch TV worth $125, a black Sony Play Station 3 worth $299, assorted women’s clothes, assorted juvenile female clothing and shoes, a DVD player worth $25 and a vacuum cleaner worth $49 were taken.
• Assault battery was reported on North Lee Street.
• Theft by taking was reported on Barlow Street. A blue and silver Mongoose Wanderer tandem bicycle worth $400 was taken.
• Operating restrictions for off-road vehicles was reported on East Forsyth Street.
• Entering an auto was reported on Southerfield Road. A High Point 9 millimeter pistol worth $185 was taken.
• A domestic problem was reported on Country Club Drive.
• An abandoned vehicle towed and possession with the intent to distribute were reported on Hosanna Circle.
• A suspicious person or vehicle was reported on Walker Street.

Arrests
• Paulino Diaz Perez, 20, of Apt. 15 Africana Drive, Plains is charged with driving while unlicensed, and was jailed.
• Kelsey Deon Yancie, 20, of 6741 gray Rockway, Lithonia is charged with driving while unlicensed, and was released on bond.

Arrest
• Shannon Ingrid Glover, 37, of 259 Rockdale Subdivision, Americus is charged with driving while her license is suspended or revoked and a window tint violation, and was released on bond.
Sumter County Fire Department
• Firefighters assisted EMS on Hillside Place and on Shiloh Road.
• A car in a ditch was reported on Croxton Cross Road.

Arrests
• Jody Harbin Cowan, 22, of 213 Peaks Landing, Conyers is charged with deposit account fraud/bad checks $499 or less and a city bench warrant, and was jailed.
• Stephanie Lashae Diggs, 22, of 1011 Border St., Americus is charged with disorderly conduct, and was released on summons to appear in court.
• Clemond Carl Glover, 38, of 919 Davenport St., Americus is charged with DUI and failure to obey signs or control devices, and was jailed.

• A bad child was reported on McMath Mill Road.
• A 911 hang-up was reported on Ginger Drive.
• A civil matter was reported on Sylvan Drive.
• Loud music was reported at the American Legion Ga. Highway 30 West, on District Line Road, at an old church on Yankee Road.
• A burglary attempt was reported on Old Dawson Road.
• Damage to property were reported on West Lamar Street and on U.S. Highway 280 West.
• A fight was reported on Murphy Mill Road.
• A burglary was reported on Sylvan Drive.
• A stolen or lost boat was reported on North Spring Creek Circle.
• Criminal trespassing were reported on Brady and on Middle River roads.
Webster County Sheriff’s Office
Arrest
• Shawn Isaac Bozzell, 33, of 344 Green Ridge Road, Catula is charged with failure to maintain lane, driving while his license is suspended or revoked, no proof of insurance for the vehicle, open container of alcohol while operating a vehicle and driving under the influence of 0.08 grams or more, his second offense, and was released to Webster County’s Sheriff’s Office.
• Montrell Starling, 30, of 1484 TV Tower Road, Parrott is charged with criminal damage to property in the first degree and disorderly conduct, and was jailed.
