Arrests

• George Harrington, 45, of 122 Odum Trailer Park, Americus is charged with burglary and possession of marijuana, and was jailed.

• Major X. Wise, 40, of 206 Price St., Americus is charged with aggravated assault, and was jailed.

• David L. Mann, 53, of 57-A Redord St., Americus is charged with failure to pay child support, and was jailed.



Incidents

• Entering an auto was reported on Lakeview Circle where coins and a Ga. driver's license were taken.

• Criminal attempt and obstruction of law enforcement officers were reported on Parker Street.

• Forgery was reported on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at Quick Stop and Big A.

• Entering an auto was reported on Taylor Street where a wallet was taken.

• Sexual assault was reported on Montgomery Street.

• Disorderly conduct was reported on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

• A suspicious person/vehicle was reported on Cherokee Street.

• Entering an auto was reported on Sun Valley Drive where $10 was taken.

• Theft by taking was reported at Belk on East Forsyth Street.

• Hit and run was reported on Peachtree Street.

• Entering an auto was reported on East Furlow Street where a Social Security card and a debit card were taken.

• Theft by shoplifting was reported at Dollar General on Adderton Street.

• Entering an auto and theft by taking were reported on Brinson Drive where a .22 caliber pistol was taken.

• Disorderly conduct was reported on West Lamar Street.

• Theft by taking was reported on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

• Burglary was reported on Carter Street.

• Threats, disorderly conduct, interference with government property and obstruction of law enforcement officers were reported on Tom Hall Circle.

• Burglary was reported on South Lee Street where electronics were taken.

• Financial transaction card fraud was reported on East Furlow Street.

• Theft by taking was reported on West Lester Street.

• Criminal trespass was reported on Waitsman Drive.

• Gas drive-off, battery and theft by taking were reported on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

• Harassing phone calls were  reported on West Lamar Street.

• Theft by taking was reported on Washington Street.

• Theft by taking was reported at Walmart on East Lamar Street.

• Burglary was reported on Lonnie Lane where a television and electronics were taken.



Sumter County Fire Department



• Firefighters assisted EMS on eight calls.

• Firefighters responded to a grass fire was reported on Lower Five Points Road.

Arrests

• Daniel Cashaw, 49, of Albany is charged with no insurance and suspended registration, and was released on bond.

• Leshongia D. Hicks, 35, of 111 Ron Circle, Americus is charged with knowingly driving motor vehicle on suspended, canceled or revoked registration, and was released on bond.

• Debra M. Mims, 31, of 476 North Spring Creek Circle, Cobb is charged with failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign, and was jailed.

• Gary N. Fuller, 32, of 110 Santa Rosa Drive, Americus is charged with battery and, was jailed.



Incidents

• Domestic disturbances were reported on Arlington Drive Extension, Oakridge Drive and Bumphead Road.

• An abandoned vehicle and damage to property were reported on Ga. Highway 49.

• Harassing phone calls were reported on Learning Lane.

• A traffic accident involving a deer was reported on Elm Avenue and on Lamar Road.

• A suspicious person was reported on Mallard Lane and Edgewood Drive.

• Disorderly conduct was reported on U.S. Highway 280 West.

• Theft was reported on Welch Way.

• Battery was reported at Spring and Church streets.

• Damage to property was reported on Lexington Circle.

• An animal complaint was reported on Croxton Crossroad.
