• John Fitzgerald Jones, 48, of 220 Gray St., Americus is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.

• Christopher J. Banks, 40, of 916.5 Weeks Trailer Park Lot 18, Americus is charged with theft by shoplifting, and was jailed.

• John F. Jones, 48, of 220 Gray St., Americus is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.

• Deon D. Flint, 18, of 108 Laurel Circle, Americus is charged with battery, and was jailed.

• James A. McCoy, 19, of 501 Bessie Mays Circle, Americus is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, and was jailed.

• Jamarcus J. Williams, 21, of 1003 Westside Drive, Americus is charged with theft by taking.



Incidents

• Theft by shoplifting was reported at Walmart on East Lamar Street.

• Hit and run was reported on East Forsyth Street.

• Theft by taking was reported on Tripp Street where $150 was taken.

• Theft by shoplifting was reported at Dollar General on East Forsyth Street.

• Simple battery was reported on Bush Circle.

• An unruly juvenile was reported on Byrd Street.

• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident involving a deer on Shiloh Road.

• Firefighters responded to brush fire caused by a tree falling on a power line at U.S. Highway 280 West and Ron Circle.

• Firefighters responded to wires down at Ga. Highway 49 South and Georgia Forest Road.

• Firefighters responded to three calls for medical assistance.

• Firefighters responded to wild land fires on U.S. Highway 19 South and at East Lamar Street and Thomas Drive.

• Firefighters responded to a dumpster fire on South Lee Street.

• Firefighters responded to Commerce Road to assist the Forestry Unit.

• Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire on South Georgia Tech Parkway.

• Adrian C. Merritt, 30, of 308 Hosanna Circle, Americus is charged with obstruction of officers, fiving false name/address/birhtdate to officers, nonpayment of child support and two counts of probation violation, and was jailed.
