AMERICUS — Americus Fire and Emergency Services

• Medical assistance was provided on East Lamar and Harris Streets.

• An electrical problem was reported on Shirley Road. Upon arrival firefighters went outside to investigate the scene. During investigation, no hazards were found. Firefighters advised the occupant that the light switch may need replacing. The scene was turned over to occupant.

• Firefighters assisted EMS on Horton Drive.

Incidents

• Disorderly conduct/juveniles fighting was reported on Bessie Mays Circle.

• Criminal trespass was reported on Rigas Road and South Hampton Street.

• Disobedience to authorized persons directing traffic was reported on North Lee Street.

• Theft by shoplifting was reported at Fred’s Department Store on East Forsyth Street. One package of caps for a cap gun and one toy cap pistol were taken.



Sumter County Fire Department

• A report of a smoldering log under a bulldozer was reported at District Line Road and Ga. Highway 49.

• Firefighters assisted EMS was reported on Leslie-Lamar Road.



Sumter County Sheriff’s Office

Arrests

• Eddie J. Holloman, 41, of Richland is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.

• Travis Hutchins, 28, of 334 Academy St., Americus is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.

• Anquania T. Mitchell, 31, of 230 Barnum Drive, Plains is charged with felony theft, and was jailed.

• Lonnie Payne, 52, of 205 E. Rockhill Drive, Americus is charged with violation of the Georgia Sex Offender Registry.

• Quadavious M. Price, 29, of Americus is charged with theft by deception and theft by receiving stolen property, and was jailed.

• Roy K. Sims, 28, of 131 Ginger Drive, Americus is charged with felony theft by taking, and was jailed.



Incidents

• Disruption of a public school and discharge of a firearm near a public school were reported on Bumphead Road.

• Burglary was reported on U.S. Highway 280 West.

• Harassing phone calls were reported at Sumter Middle School.

• An alarm activation was reported on Mayfire Drive and North Bailey Avenue.

• An animal problem was reported on Brickyard Road.
