• Firefighters assisted EMS on 13 calls.

• An outside rubbish fire was reported on Judy Lane.

• A gas odor was reported on West Lamar Street; firefighters advised the resident to contact building owner to investigate for mold.

• A controlled burn was reported on Bumphead Road.

• Firefighters performed a smoke detector detail on Carter Street.

• Firefighters responded to minor traffic accidents on Tom Hall Circle, at Mayo and Forsyth streets, and at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Davenport Street.

• Firefighters responded to a false call on Anthony Street.

• Firefighters responded to an accidental alarm on South Lee Street.

Arrests

• Eddie D. Covin, 28, of Leesburg is charged with driving while license suspended or revoked and DUI, and was released on bond.

• A juvenile was charged with theft by shoplifting at Discount Tobacco, 704 N. Lee St.

• Maria D. Gonzalez, 22, of 426-A S. Lee St., Americus is charged with driving while unlicensed (second offense).

• Charcia Sims, 25, of 157-B Lakeview Circle, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct.

• Dominique Shelton, 22, of 150 W. Rockhilll Drive, Americus is charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

• Robert L. Bailey, 60, of 205 Murphy Mill Road, Americus is charged with failure to maintain lane, DUI and driving while unlicensed.

• A juvenile was charged with runaway and unruliness on Hanson Drive.

• A juvenile was charged with runaway and unruliness at Eastview Apartments.

• Broderick T. Snead, 33, of 117 J.R. Campbell Sr. St., Americus is charged with inoculation, restraint, tagging of animals; and pens or enclosures within 300 ft. of building.

• Erica S. Lusane, 21, of 140 Lonnie Lane, No. 232, Americus is charged with operating a motor vehicle while registration is suspended, canceled or revoked, and no proof of insurance.

• Anthony G. Cane, 22, of 87 E. College St., Ellaville is charged with reckless driving, colliding with a fixed object, headlight requirements, fleeing or attempting to elude police officer, failure to maintain lane and DUI, and was jailed.

• Brantley D. Easom, 18, of 155 Jimmy Wolfe Drive, Americus is charged with underage possession of alcohol, and was released on bond.

• Forrest H. Savage, 18, of 126 E. Hill St., Americus is charged with reckless driving.

• Matthew B. Calcutt, 18, of 209 W. College St., Americus is charged with open container and underage possession/consumption of alcohol.

• Christopher Eastwood, 19, of Lilburn is charged with failure to obey traffic control device and underage consumption/possession of alcohol.

• Burglary was reported at Eastview Apartments where a Playstation 3 and an XBox 360 were reported stolen.

• An animal problem was reported on Brookwood Lane.

• A debit card was reported stolen on Palm Court.

• Identity fraud was reported on Oglethorpe Avenue.

• Domestic disturbances were reported on Ashby Street, Fairway II Drive, East Glessner Street and Reddick Drive.

• A stabbing was reported on Reddick Drive.

• An injured person was reported at Floyd’s, 125 W. Lamar St.

• A black 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck was reported stolen on Lorraine Avenue.

• A vehicle tag was reported stolen on Fulton Street.

• Animal problems were reported on Sharon Circle and East Forsyth Street.

• A wallet was reported lost on South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

• A Playstation 3 with two controllers, a 32-in. flat-screen TV and two video games were reported stolen at a Burke Street residence.

• A gun shot was reported on Park Row.

• Criminal trespass was reported on Felder Street.

• Suspicious persons were reported on Railroad Street.

• Burglary was reported on Alice Avenue and Starlight Circle.

• Burglary was reported on Garden Lane where two flat-screen TVs, two portraits, a tool set, jigsaw, reversible drill and a plastic storage tote were reported stolen.

• Financial transaction card theft was reported by a Mayo Street residence.

• Criminal trespass was reported on Horton Drive.

• Financial identity fraud was reported by a Morningside Drive resident.

• Harassing phone calls were reported on Peachtree Street.

• A woman at Floyd’s, 125 W. Lamar St., told police someone pushed her to the floor when she was at the pub.

• Second-degree criminal damage was reported on Shady Lane.

• Prescription forgery was reported a Rite Aid, 1442 E. Lamar St.

• A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle on Southerfield Road.

Arrests

• Jesse C. Tyson, 30, of 216 Jenkins Road, Americus is charged with DUI, and was jailed.

• John G. Ragsdale, 42, of Albany is charged with failure to obey stop sign and driving while license is suspended or revoked, and was jailed.

• David R. Rueda, 20, of 106 Lexington Circle, Lot 37. Americus is charged with driving while unlicensed, and improper left or right turn, and was jailed.

• Anysha S. Walton, 20, of 188 Ponderosa Road, Buena Vista is charged with driving while license is suspended or revoked, and was jailed.

• James L. Ward, 30, of Dozier, Ala., is charged with driving while license is suspended or revoked, and was released on bond.

• Corralus C. Wilson, 31, of 69-A Cherokee St., Americus is charged with driving while license is suspended or revoked, and was released on bond.



Plains Police Department



Arrest

• Gary A. Loyless, 19, of 272 Wiggins Road, Smithville is charged with possession of marijuana, fleeing or attempting to elude police officer and speeding, and was released on bond.



Sumter County Fire Department

• A downed power line was reported on U.S. Highway 280 West.

• A controlled burn was reported on Ga. Highway  118.

• Firefighters assisted EMS on four calls.

• Firefighters responded to an electrical fire on Africana Drive.

• Firefighters responded to a field fire on Croxton Cross Road.

• Firefighter responded to an unauthorized burn on Ga. Highway 45 North.

• Firefighters responded to a large debris pile burning on Church Street, Andersonville. It was a controlled burn.

Arrests

• Percintres T. Walters, 21, of 215 Habitat St., Americus is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.

• Donna B. Pride, 49, of 325 Hosanna Circle, Americus is charged with driving while license is suspended or revoked, and was released on bond.

• Dejean D. Glover, 20, of 259 Rockdale Subdivision Loop, Americus is charged with felony theft by taking motor vehicle, misdemeanor battery (Family Violence Act), and was jailed.



Incidents

• Two traffic accidents involving a deer were reported on Ga. Highway 27 East.

• Domestic disturbances were reported on Lexington Circle, Forrest Park, Grover Drive , Pine Level Road, Three Bridges Road and  Pryor Cobb Road.

• Theft was reported on Ridge Street.

• Burglary was reported on Myrtle Springs Road and Upper River Road.

• A child was reported missing on Sylvan Road.

• Loud music was reported on Jenkins Road and Ga. Highway 49 South.

• A mental subject was reported on Rockdale Subdivision Road.

• Alarm activations were reported on Hudson Street, New Era Road, South M.L. Hudson Street, Buttercup Lane and at Sumter County Elementary School, 438 Bumphead Road.

• Damage to property was reported on Newpoint Church Road.

• Theft by taking was reported on Sylvan Road.

• Damage to property was reported on West Ellaville Street.

• An unsecured door was reported on Raymond and Mask roads.

• Criminal trespass was reported on Grover Drive.

• Deputies assisted a motorist on U.S. Highway 280 East.

• Deputies conducted eight traffic stops.

• A suspicious vehicle was reported on Wiggins Road.

• Deputies performed a welfare check at Ga. Highway 30 and James Hart Road.

• Cows were reported in the roadway at U.S. Highway 19 South and Bear Branch Road.

• Livestock was reported in the roadway on Lamar Road.

• A suspicious person was reported on Sam Rodgers Road.

• Abandoned vehicles were reported at U.S. Highway 19 North and Shiloh Road, and on Jenkins Road.

• A wallet was found at the Sumter County Courthouse, 500 W. Lamar St.





Webster County Sheriff’s Office



Arrests

• George H. Rhodes, 54, of 125 Ashwood St., Albany is charged with probation violation and was jailed.

• Michael S. Smith, 22, of 1306 8th Ave., Albany is charged with aggravated child molestation and was jailed.
