AMERICUS — Americus Fire and Emergency Services

• Firefighters provided medical assistance on Academy and Poplar Streets.

• Firefighters responded to a line down on Barbara Battle Way. Upon arriving, Americus Police Department was already on scene. APD contacted Georgia Power Co. and notified them of hazardous scene. Firefighters stood by until Georgia Power arrived. Georgia Power shut power off to location , and firefighters removed tree that partially blocked the roadway. Georgia Power advised no further assistance was needed, and firefighters returned to service.

Arrests

• James Acres Beal V of 1034 Elm Ave. Apt. 5-B, Americus is charged with driving without license on person and DUI.

• Johnny Lamar Jackson, 26, of 186 Lexington Circle, Americus is charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and was jailed.

• Jacquail Tywan Johnson, 21, of 222 Roy Circle, Americus is charged with disorderly conduct.

• Jack Duncan Nicholson, 23, of 1034 Elm Ave., Apt. 5-B, Americus is charged with non-compliance and was jailed.

• George Clifford Oliver, 28, of 1204 2nd Montgomery St., Americus is charged with obstructing or hindering law enforcement officers and theft by shoplifting, and was jailed.



Incidents

• Harassing phone calls were reported on East Lamar Street and Eastview Circle.

• Terroristic threats were reported at Weeks Trailer Park, 916.5  Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

• Simple battery/unruly juvenile were reported on Barnum Drive.

• Burglary was reported on Garden Lane. One Xbox game console and video games for Xbox 360 were taken.

• Criminal trespass was reported on Hanson Drive.

• Entering an auto was reported on Hosanna Circle. A Pioneer CD player worth $100, two 15-inch speakers worth $125 and one Pioneer 1500 watt amp worth $85 were taken.

• A hit and run/leaving the scene of an accident was reported on East Lamar Street at the Wal-Mart Supercenter and West Church Street.

• A hit and run traffic accident was reported on South Lee Street.

• A traffic accident was reported on Pineview Drive.

• Threats of violence were reported on Taylor Street.

• Burglary was reported on Hosanna Circle.

• Obscene or abusive profane language was reported on Beale Street.

• Theft by shoplifting was reported at the Americus Package Store on East Forsyth Street. One 750 ml of gin worth $12.

• A juvenile complaint was reported on Bozeman Circle.

• A domestic problem was reported on West Lester Street.



Sumter County   Fire Department

• Firefighters responded to a patient with difficulty breathing on Youngs Mill Road. Assessment of the patient was completed.

Arrests

• David Leroy Brown, 37, of 113 Bush Circle, Americus is charged with obstructing or hindering law enforcement officers.

• Elijah Edward Mays, 37, of 202 Pryor Cobb Road, Cobb is charged with theft by taking and child support violation, and was jailed.

• Gregory Nikita Milledge, 37, of Albany is charged with theft by taking, and was jailed.

• Taneshia Racqual Porter, 19, of 602-C Eastview Circle, Americus is charged with financial transaction card theft, and was jailed.

• Calvin Tullis, 50, of 147-B Jenkins Road, Americus was arrested on a bench warrant, and was jailed.

• George Wright, 59, of 148 Cook Drive, DeSoto is charged with theft by taking, and was jailed.



Incidents

• A suspicious vehicle was reported on Ga. Highway 49 South.

• Alarm activations were reported on Brady Road, Pine Level Road and U.S. Highway 280 East.

• Financial transaction card theft was reported on South Georgia Tech Parkway.

• Domestic disturbances were reported on Ga. Highway 49 South, Ga. Highway 308 and Jenkins Road.

• Harassing phone calls were reported on R.W. Jones Road.

• Animal problems were reported on Head Road.

• A rape was reported on Arch Helms Road.

• An accident involving a deer was reported on South Georgia Tech Parkway.
