AMERICUS — Americus Fire and Emergency Services

• An activated smoke detector was reported on Rucker Street.

• Firefighters assisted EMS with loading two patients on Willis Street.

• Firefighters provided medical assistance on Coccaine and Ridge streets and on Barbara Battle Way.

• An accident with injuries was reported at the intersection of East Lamar and Tripp street. First aid was provided.



Americus Police  Department

Arrests

• Shameka Lachelle Berry, 23, of 114-B Hanson Drive, Americus is charged with city probation, and was jailed.

• Stevie Morrell Calloway, 52, of 108 McSonic Drive, Americus is charged with open container not in vehicle and criminal trespass, and was jailed.

• Crystal Shauntae Cross, 24, of 104 Hosanna Circle, Americus is charged with city probation and assault battery, and was jailed.

• Brandon Taward Gordon, 20, of 105 Hanson Drive, Americus is charged with theft by receiving stolen property, and was jailed.  

• Randy Charles Holmes, 34, of 121 W. Lester St., Americus is charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault, and was jailed.

• Carlton Jermaine Spears, 28, of 116 W. Peppermint Way, Americus is charged with theft by taking and probation violation, and was jailed.  



Incidents

• A burglary was reported on Eastview Drive.

• A motorcycle collision with a dog was reported on Lorraine Avenue.

• Theft by taking was reported on Hanson Drive.

• A criminal trespass was reported on Barnum Drive and Parker Street.

• A hit and run traffic accident was reported at Reeve’s Construction on Spring Street.

• Simple battery was reported on Town Creek Street.    

 

Sumter County Fire Department

• Heat set off an alarm on Old Plains Highway. No smoke or fire were found.

• Firefighters investigated an incident on Lamar Road and Ga. Highway 195.

• Firefighters assisted Vital Care on Cartwright and Lacross roads and on Foster Street.

• A backyard fire was reported on Brady Road.

• Firefighters assisted EMS at Tri-Wood Corp. on Austin Road.

Arrests

• Clay Hudson Holman, 27, of 8044 Andersonville Road, Andersonville is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.

• Rhonda Sue Hubbard, 48, of 144 Foster St., DeSoto is charged with disorderly conduct and interference with government property, and was jailed.

• Cody Allen Martinez, 17, of 105 Violet Drive, Americus is charged with reckless conduct, and was jailed.  

• Wayne Barnett Ruff, 51, of 146 Rainbow Terr., Americus is charged with disorderly conduct, terroristic  threats and acts and interference with government property, and was jailed.  



Incidents

• Domestic disturbances were reported on Violet Drive, Foster Street and Rainbow Terrace.

• An accident involving a deer was reported on East Sherwood Road.

• A fox caught in a trap was reported on Ga. Highway 30 West.

• A theft was reported on Sunset Park Drive.

• Financial transaction card fraud was reported at USA Food Mart.

• A motorist with a damaged vehicle was assisted on Iris Drive and on U.S. Highway 280 East.

• Threats were reported on Greystone Place.

• Battery was reported on SGTC campus in James Hall.

• Officers conducted a welfare check on 200 Railroad Street.
