Americus Fire and Emergency Services



• Firefighters assisted EMS on Tom Hall Circle, Eastview Drive, Ridge Street, Shirley Road and Mayo Street.

• Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Knollwood Drive. When firefighters arrived they discovered a stove fire with minimal flames underneath the range hood. The fire was contained to the kitchen and extinguished.

• Firefighters performed a public service on South Lee Street.

• Firefighters responded to a flammable liquid spill on U.S. Highway 19 North.

• Firefighters responded to a smoke scare on East Glessner Street.

Arrests

• Shanbrea Hawkins, 19, of 817 Ridge St., Americus is charged with criminal trespass, and was released on summons to appear in court.

• Jose Mangas, 34, of 1010 Felder St., Americus is charged with open container, driving without a license and DUI, and was released on bond.

• Arthur Hackney, 59, of 506 Hartman St., Americus is charged with theft by shoplifting, and was jailed.



Incidents

• Financial transaction card fraud was reported on Wanda Way.

• Theft by taking was reported on Crawford Street.

• Entering auto was reported on Peggyanne Drive.

• A bad child was reported on Beale Street.

• Two flat screen TVs, a PSP and an X Box 360 were reported stolen from a Glory Street residence.

Arrests

• Marshal L. Livingston, 18, of Sylvester is charged with DUI and failure to maintain lane and was released on bond.

• Henry E. Sheffield, 49, of Moultrie is charged with driving while license is suspended and four counts of probation violation, and was jailed.



Citation

• Kalan L. Law, 19, of 1288 Usrey Road, Leslie is charged with failure to stop at a stop sign.



Incidents

• A hit and run traffic accident was reported on South Georgia Tech Parkway.

• Theft by taking was reported at Cobb Cheek and Dixon roads.

• Theft by taking was reported at a Forest Park Road residence.
