• Firefighters responded to six calls for medical assistance.

• Firefighters responded to an outside fire at Bell Street and Bessie Mays Circle.

• Firefighters responded to an alarm in Douglas Circle. There was no fire.

• Firefighters responded to a grass fire at Lamar Street and Thomas Drive.

• Firefighters responded to cooking fire on Hosanna Circle.

• Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire on U.S. Highway 19 North.



Americus Police Department



Arrests

• Keyunta Ferguson, 25, of  133 Santa Rosa Driver, Americus is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.

• Quincy Johnson, 19, of 109-F Magnolia Village, Americus is charged with burglary, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, manufacture/deliver/distribute/sell/administer/possess with intent to distribute controlled substance and misdemeanor battery (Family Violence Act), and was jailed.

• James M. Pride, 44, of 235 Brookdale Drive, Americus is charged with nonpayment of child support, and was jailed.

• Shalandrea S. Singleton, 19, of 520 Hampton St., Americus is charged with burglary and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, manufacture/deliver/distribute/sell/administer/possess with intent to distribute controlled substance. and was jailed.

• Burglary was reported on King's Way where jewelry and clothing were taken.

• Armed robbery was reported on North Lee Street where $70 was taken.

• Simple battery was reported on Barnum Drive.

• Hit and run was reported on Brookdale Drive.

• Theft by shoplifting was reported at Dollar General on Adderton Street.

• A gas drive off was reported on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

• Aggravated battery was reported on Davenport Street.

• Harassing phone calls were reported on Ridge Street.

• Theft by shoplifting, obstruction was reported at Winn Dixie on Crawford Street.

• Entering an auto was reported on Strife Street.

• Simple battery was reported on Railroad Street.

• Theft by taking was reported on West Church Street where campaign signs were taken.

• Lost property was reported on South Lee Street.

• Criminal trespass was reported on Davenport Street and Barnum Drive.

• Burglary was reported on New Street where $30, a driver's license and a social security card were taken.

• An unruly juvenile was reported on Forrest St.

• Theft by shoplifting was reported at Wal-Mart on  East Lamar Street.

• Theft by taking was reported on Pine Avenue.

• Rape and theft by taking was reported on West Peppermint Way.

• Entering an auto was reported on Peppermint Way.

• Burglary was reported on Hosanna Circle.



Americus Probation Office



Arrest

• Eddie J. Mercer, 21, of 213 Sharon Drive, Americus is charged with probation violation, and was jailed.



Sumter County Sheriff’s Office



Arrests

• Raphell M. McCoy, 32, of 712 Barlow St., Americus is charged witih driving while unlicensed, and was jailed.



Incidents

• An abandoned vehicle was reported on Ga. Highway 27 East.

• A traffic accident involving a deer was reported on Shiloh Road.

• Power lines down were rported at Ga. Highway 49 South and Forest Road, and a tree was reported across a power line on Lasco Harvey Road.

• Burglary was reported on Buford Road.

• Shots were reportedly fired on Foster Street, DeSoto.

• A domestic disturbance was reported on Rainbow Terrace.
