• Firefighters assisted EMS on Russell Street and U.S. Highway 27 East.



Americus Police Department

Arrests

• Dwayne Henry Clemons, 45, of 120 Appleblossom Lane, Americus is charged with obstruction, and was jailed.

• Kimberly L. Evans, 27, of 506 Hartman St., Americus is charged with aggravated assault, and was jailed.

• Obidio Lopez, 21, of 456 Rees St., Americus is charged with no driver’s license and an expired tag, and was jailed.

• Delton Styles of Albany is charged with driving while license is suspended or revoked.



Incidents

• Burglaries were reported on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and at Pizza Hut on East Forsyth Street.

• Theft by taking was reported on Davenport Street. A set of 22-inch rims and tires worth $700 were taken.

• Theft by taking was reported on Walter Way. A Ruger P89 9mm semiautomatic pistol worth $330 was taken.

• Theft by taking was reported on Wildwood Circle. A Smith and Wesson SW40VE black 40-caliber handgun worth $400 was taken.

• Harassing phone calls were reported on North Avenue.

• Entering an auto was reported on North Jackson Street.



Sumter County Fire Department

• Firefighters responded to a fire on U.S. Highway 280 East. When firefighters arrived, the fire had been put out.

• Firefighters assisted EMS on Salem Woods Drive, Ga. Highway 49 South near Fox Stephens Road, South Georgia Tech Parkway, Bumphead Road and on Winder Street (Andersonville).

Arrests

• Betty June Head, 58, of Vienna is charged with two counts of felony failure to appear in court, and was jailed.

• Kenneth Myrick, 51, of Atlanta is charged with a probation violation, and was jailed.

• Christopher Owen Norton, 28, of 709 Adderton St., Americus is charged with a probation violation, and was jailed.

• Quentin Jerel Perkins, 20, of 301 Flint Drive, Montezuma is charged with criminal trespass and obstruction, and was jailed.



Incidents

• Suspicious people were reported on Orchid Road and Railroad Street.

• Theft was reported at Markette’s Nursery on U.S. 19 North.

• An alarm activation was reported on U.S. Highway 19 South.

• A blocked roadway was reported on Ga. Highway 377 South and on U.S. Highway 280 East.
