Americus Fire & Emergency Services
• Firefighters assisted EMS on Harold Avenue, Sun Valley Drive and Hawkins Street.
• Firefighters responded to Oglethorpe Avenue in reference to a service call pertaining to smoke detector. Firefighters arrived on scene and made contact wish occupant who advised his smoke detector needed new battery. Firefighters replaced the battery and checked remaining detectors. All other detectors were in working condition.
• All firefighter units were dispatched to Harris Street in reference to a washing machine that was smoking. Firefighters arrived on scene and nothing was showing. Firefighters made contact with occupant and entered structure. The occupant advised firefighters she was washing clothes and noticed smoke coming out of the washing machine. Firefighters unplugged washing machine and turned off panel box to washing machine. Firefighters investigated for any other hazards in structure and found none. No smoke or odors were noticed inside structure.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident with injuries on Mayo Street.
• Firefighters were dispatched to smoke near Peppermint Way. Firefighters found a small rubbish fire about three feet square in size. Firefighters extinguished the fire.

Incidents
• A hit and run accident was reported on South Lee Street.
• A lost wallet was reported on South Lee Street. The wallet contained a birth certificate, a Georgia driver’s license, cash, a social security card and a debit card.
• Criminal trespass was reported at Wal-Mart Supercenter on East Lamar Street.

• Firefighters assisted EMS on Ga. Highway 49 South and on Winder Street.

Arrests
• Jade L. Denmark, 33, of 701 Davenport St., Apt. 6A, Americus is charged with probation violation and was jailed.
• Terrence T. Ingram, 31, of 248 Meadowbrook Lane, Americus is charged with theft by receiving stolen property and was jailed.
• Jessi L. Kendrick, 52, of 107 Pecan Terrace, Americus is charged with theft by receiving stolen property and was jailed.

• A deer accident was reported on Ga. Highway 49 North.
• Criminal trespassing was reported on Middle River Road.
• Theft by taking was reported on Graystone Drive.
• Theft was reported on Church Street.
• An abandoned vehicle was reported on Still Water Circle and Andersonville Road.
• A theft was reported on Floyd Road.
• Theft of service was reported on U.S. Highway 280 West.
• A domestic disturbance was reported on Lacrosse Road and McMath Mill Road.
