• Firefighters assisted EMS on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Redrick Street and Bayhill Street.

• A rubbish fire was reported on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Americus Police Department

Arrests

• Aaron T. Johnson, 53, of 442-A Bone Road, Americus is charged with DUI, and was released on bond.

• Travis S. Hutchins, 27, of 808 Fairfield Ave., Americus is charged with simple battery, and was jailed.

• Shakala Durham, 17, of 202 Schley St., Americus is charged with no driver's license and failure to maintain lane, and was released on summons to appear in court.

Incidents

• Entering an auto was reported on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

• Burglary was reported on Bessie Mays Circle.

• Hit and run was reported on West Lamar Street.

• Theft was reported on Prince Street.

• Criminal attempt was reported on Eastview Drive.

• Criminal trespass was reported at Magnolia Village.

Sumter County Sheriff's Office

Arrests

• Corrick J. Alston, 34, of Dawson is charged with driving while license is suspended or revoked; maintaining, distributing or possessing a controlled substance near a park or housing projects; and illegal possession of a controlled substance near a school, and was jailed.

• Khalid Bhatti, 41, of 604 Dudley St., Montezuma is charged with simple battery, and was released on bond.

• Joyce K. Sinquefield, 20, of 399 Johnson St., Andersonville is charged with deposit account fraud/bad checks, and was released on bond.

Incidents

• Illegal dumping was reported on Johnson Street.

• Found property was reported on Southerfield Road.

• Firefighters assisted EMS on Watermelon Road, Middle River Road, DeSoto Seed Farm Road, Grover Pace Road, Oak Turn Drive and North Spring Creek Circle and was jailed.
• Firefighters responded to false alarms on Austin Drive and Thomas Drive.
