Arrests

• Dwayne K. Carter, 40, of 1109 Montgomery St., Americus is charged with theft by taking, and was jailed.

• Cordarra Lockhart, 23, of 50-C Reddick Drive, Americus is charged with  criminal trespass, and was jailed.

• Logan J. Tookes, 44, of 1109 Oglethorpe Ave., Americus is charged with DUI, and was released on bond.

• Alfonza Wright, 50, of 618 Dismuke St., Americus is charged with theft by taking, and was released on bond.



Incidents

• Entering an auto with intent to commit theft or felony  was reported on Felder Street where a checkbook, driver’s license and Social Security card were taken.

• Burglary was reported on Lindsay Lane where a electronics, prescription medicine and money were taken.

• Forgery was reported on North Lee Street.

• Theft by taking was reported on West Lester Street.

• Theft by taking and criminal trespass were reported on Tripp Street.

• Theft by shoplifting was reported at Fred’s on East Forsyth Street.

• An unruly juvenile was reported on East Jefferson Street and Sunset Drive.

• Identity fraud was reported on West College Street.

• Burglary was reported on Ridge Street where an iPod, laptop computer and flat screen television were taken.

• Forgery was reported at Wayne’s World on East Forsyth Street and Discount Tobacco on North Lee Street.

• Disorderly conduct was reported on Reddick Drive.

• Criminal attempt was reported on Taylor Street.

• Hit and run was reported on East Lamar Street.

• Entering an auto with attempt to commit theft or felony was reported on Murphy Mill Road.

• No driver’s license was reported on Tripp Street.

• Theft by taking was reported on Tripp street where steel rebar was taken.

• Marcus R. Mack, 36, of 359 R.W. Jones Road, Leslie is charged with DUI, and was jailed.



Sumter County Fire Department



• Firefighters assisted EMS on 11 calls.

• A grass fire was reported on Lower Five Points Road.

• Firefighters responded to an unauthorized burn on Cartwright Road Extension.

• Firefighters responded to a brush fire on U.S. Highway 280 West.

• Firefighters responded to alarm activations on Austin Road

Arrests

• Reynaldo Gomez-Santiz, 25, of 1848 S. Lee St., Americus, is charged with DUI,  and was jailed.

• Steven K. Harden, 34, of Poulan is charged with battery and harassing phone calls, and was jailed.

• A suspicious person was reported on Mallard Lane.

• Possession of marijuana was reported at Sumter County Middle School on Bumphead Road.

• Theft was reported on Young’s Mill Road.

• A domestic disturbance was reported on West Rockhill Drive.

• An animal complaint was reported on Bob Dodson Road.

• Livestock in road was reported on Bumphead Road.

• Threats were reported on Sunset Park Drive.

• Burglary was reported on West Furlow Street.

• Domestic disturbance was reported on Bagley Street.

• An abandoned vehicle was reported on Young’s Mill Road.

• A domestic disturbance was reported on Ga. Highway 27 East.

• A mental subject was reported on Graham Street.

• A suspicious person was reported on U.S. Highway 280 West.
