• Firefighters responded to eight calls for medical assistance.

• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Tripp Street and GSW University Drive.

• Firefighters responded to Americus-Sumter County High School South Campus, 805 Harrold Ave., where they stood by a tornado drill.

• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at Spring Street and U.S. Highway 280 West.

• Firefighters responded to a dumpster fire on Mayo Street.

• Firefighters responded to Forestside Circle where they found fire wood burning in a backyard in an approved pit.

• Firefighters responded to the Windsor Hotel, 125 W. Lamar St., to a detector malfunction.

Arrests

• Quanesha Brown, 21, of 105-E Eastview Circle, Americus is charged with deposit account fraud, and was jailed.

• Christopher D. Garry, 21, of 117-A Hanson Drive, Americus is charged with possession of a controlled substance, probation violation, forgery and theft by taking, and was jailed.

• Izzudin S. Slaton, 22, of 164 Church S. Americus is charged with impeding the flow of traffic and DUI, and was released on bond.

• Larry Williams, 20, of 505 Sharon Drive, Americus is charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance, and was jailed.

• Montavious T. Evans, of 110 Knollwood Drive, Americus is charged with entering an automobile with intent to commit theft or felony, and was jailed.

• Tocoma L. Williams, 32, of 243 E. Rockhill Drive, Americus is charged with aggravated assault and cruelty to children, and was jailed.

• Deontavius Glover, 45, of 429-O Forrest St., Americus is charged with parole violation, and was jailed.

• Kendrick M. Burton, 27, of 205-I Murphy Mill Road, Americus is charged with depositing unbagged yard waste.



Incidents

• Criminal trespass was reported on Kings Way.

• A Lowe Street resident reported tax fraud.

• A domestic disturbance was reported on Horton Drive.

• A wanted subject was reported on Mayo Street.





Georgia State Patrol Post 10, Americus



Arrest

• Byron Doomes, 30, of Albany is charged with speeding and driving while license is suspended or revoked, and was released on bond.





Sumter County Fire Department



• Firefighters assisted EMS on two calls.

• Firefighters extinguished a fire caused by cotton seed waste on McLittle Bridge Road.

• Firefighters extinguished a small land fire on Ga. Highway 195 North.

• Firefighters responded to an electrical problem on Lane Store Road.
