The UPS Store to host grand reopening Friday

AMERICUS — The UPS Store, 1602 E. Forsyth St., in the Americus Village shopping center, hosts its grand reopening celebration from 3-5 p.m. Friday. Among the activities planned for the day are a live remote with WISK and WDEC radio as well as a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Americus-Sumter County Chamber of Commerce.

“As a one-stop shop for shipping, postal, printing and business services, we look forward to serving the Americus and Sumter County community,” said the UPS Store franchise owner Bill Heys of Americus.

In addition to domestic and international shipping, The UPS Store offers full-service packaging, digital printing and online printing, black and white and color copies, document finish (binding, laminating, etc.), printing services (business cards, letterhead, rubber stamps, etc.), notary, custom crating and shipping for large items (furniture, artwork, motorcycles, etc.), mailbox and postal service, office and packaging supplies, and more.

According to Heys, “We are in the business of saving people time, and with shipping prices direct from UPS, we can save them money as well. At The UPS Store, we’re committed to providing convenient small business solutions with personalized customer service.”

For the 22nd consecutive year, The UPS Store franchises have been named number one in the postal and business services category by Entrepreneur magazine as part of the “Franchise 500” ranking, which ranks franchise opportunities based on factors like financial strength, growth rate and size.

Prior to purchasing The UPS Store, Heys spent 35 years in the computer telecommunications and Internet industry. He is a pioneer in the Internet industry.

Co-franchisee Diane Hartell spent 20 years as chief operating officer of a literacy agency in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Heys and Hartell retired in 2007, and relocated to Americus in 2011, from Atlanta.

The UPS Store’s Americus location is open from 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
