AMERICUS —
The Americus Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp No. 78 hosted a fish fry supper for local veterans in appreciation of their service to our nation. The event was held at the American Legion, John D. Mathis Post No. 2 in Americus and was well attended many veterans and their wives. Local SCV Camp Commander John Carroll stated, “ In observance of Veterans Day this week, we want to show the men and women who wore the uniform of the United States, and defended freedom around the world, how much we appreciate them and their families sacrifice.”
The Rev. Mark Carter provided the devotional program for the evening based on Matthew 12: 43-15 and 2nd Chronicles 7:14.
The Sons of Confederate Veterans also made a contribution to the local project Operation Desert Support in honor of the local Veterans.
