AMERICUS — Personnel with the Americus Fire and Emergency Service battled a blaze at Wilson Automotive Service on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Saturday afternoon. A witness at the scene, Terri Williamson, said her father, Johnny Wilson, who’s been in business at the location for 42 years, was welding inside when the fire started. Firefighters used the tower pumper to get overhead to douse the flames coming from the roof. More information will be made available in Tuesday’s edition.
