AMERICUS —
The annual Boar's Head Feast is anticipated every year at Calvary Episcopal Church in Americus. It was held on Jan. 5.
The Feast is ancient, based on the story of the scholar who was walking through the woods (400 years ago) reading Aristotle on his way to evening prayer when he was attacked by a wild hog. He crammed the metal-bound book into the boar's mouth, killing him, and in celebration of his life being saved, they all had a boar's head feast that night for supper!
Calvary’s event hosted 125 people there, many non-Calvary folks, and it was a fun event to be a part of.
