AMERICUS — The Georgia Street Rod Association (GSRA) will hold its monthly state-wide meeting in Americus on Sept. 12 at the John M. Pope Center on the South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) campus. All GSRA members and prospective members are encouraged to attend.
Buddy Hollomon of Americus, newly elected president of the GRSA, is helping to host the meeting which will begin at approximately 11 a.m. GRSA members and car enthusiasts will bring their restored vehicles and have them on display around the circle in front of the John M. Pope Industrial Technology Center building on the SGTC campus.
SGTC will also conduct tours of the campus and its automotive programs, for interested GRSA members.
The GRSA helped endow a special scholarship for the SGTC high performance engines/motorsports program. Two students, Leo Thomas “Tommy” Skinner of Leesburg, and Ben Hollis of Americus, were the first two recipients of the scholarship this past year.
