AMERICUS — Four people have been arrested in an ongoing investigation into the manufacture of methamphetamine.
According to a news release from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday agents of the Multi-Agency Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 409 Earl St. The investigation resulted in the seizure of evidence of an active clandestine lab and a small amount of methamphetamine. The scene and items were handled according to established protocols and the contaminated waste was disposed of accordingly.
Arrested at the scene was Angela Brantley, 34, of 224 W. Lamar St., Americus.
Arrested on Thursday were Jason Icard, 35, of 409 Earl St., Americus and Matthew James Waller, 21, of 1719 Parker’s Mill Road, Buena Vista.
All three are charged with manufacture of methamphetamine.
Also arrested on Thursday was Richard Blake Morgan, 25, also of Americus, charged with criminal attempt to manufacture methamphetamine.
The Sumter County Multi-Agency Drug Task Force, Americus Police Department, Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, Albany Dougherty Drug Unit and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation all worked together in the investigation of the case and execution of the search warrant. Assisting in the arrest of Icard and Waller were the Houston County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia State Patrol Aviation unit, Perry hangar.
As of Friday, all subjects were in custody awaiting bond.
