AMERICUS — The new Harveys store opens today, at 107 Prince St., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony ay 8:30 a.m. The store opens for business at 9 a.m.
The new 35,317 sq.-ft. store in Forsyth Commons shopping center offers a large fresh produce department and a full-service deli/bakery with in-store decorated cakes, specialty meats, cheeses and breads, and a large meat department featuring fresh beef, pork, poultry and seafood. The store also offers a wide selection of international and specialty items and fresh-cut floral items. Other services offered at the new Harveys store include pharmacy services, Western Union service, Rug Doctor rentals, Blue Rhino propane tank exchange, ATM and Coinstar machine.
Overall, the store will offer more than 23,000 different products.
The store will be open from 7 a.m.-10 p.m., daily.
Amelia Jenkins is store manager and there are approximately 34 full-time and 46 part-time employees. The phone number is 924-1620.
The South Lee Street Harveys closed Tuesday and the Perlis Plaza location will close in the coming weeks.
