• Hot Dogs Cool Cones — 101 Church St., Andersonville — Aug. 18 — routine — score: 87 B — inspected by Jane Arnold
— Broken ice scoop needs replacing; scoop with handle needed in sugar.
— Sugar stored in bulk needs to be labeled.
— Hot foods need to be held at 135 degrees F. or hotter.
— If using time as a public health control, must have written procedure/records.
• Lugene’s — U.S. Highway 280 East, Leslie — Aug. 19 — routine — score: 97 A — inspected by Arnold
— Broken thermometer needs replacing.
• Mom’s Kitchen — Church Street, Plains — Aug. 20 — routine — score: 91 A — inspected by Arnold
— Raw meats need to be stored together and on low shelves in cooler; ready to eat food above them.
• Old Bank Cafe — 118 Main St., Plains — Aug. 20 — routine — score: 96 A — inspected by Arnold
— Broken/cracked ice scoop needs replacing.
— Thermometer needed for checking cook temperatures, holding temperatures.
• Middle Flint Council Services — 112 Industrial Blvd. — Aug. 21 — routine — score: 98 A — inspected by Arnold and Kathy Mitcham
— Cambros need to be cleaned and sanitized; upper shelves above mixer need cleaning.
— Seal openings on rear doors; bottom shelves on two prep tables need to be resurfaced to be a smooth, easily cleanable surface (rusty); top edge of one prep table needs to be repaired/replaced.
— Personal belongings should not be stored in food prep/food storage area.
• Pizza Hut — 1041 E. Forsyth St. — Aug. 21 — routine — score: 92 A — inspected by Mitcham
— Ceiling over ice machine, ceiling over oven, wall behind utensil shelves, top of old refrigerator need to be cleaned.
— Lid missing on dumpster; garbage needs to be properly bagged; old equipment (not in use) should be removed to facilitate cleaning and prevent insect harborage.
— Paper products and other food contact surfaces should be stored separately from cleaning supplies.
— Vent over take-out counter needs to be cleaned.
— All food and food contact products must be stored at least 6 inches off floor in storage building.
Note: Vegetables purchased pre-washed. Will need a separate sink for vegetables if process changes.
