Columbus — Fire investigators are trying to learn what caused a fire that left a Columbus home gutted during the weekend.
Investigators said children were among the occupants of the house when it caught fire Saturday afternoon but they all escaped unharmed.
Battalion Chief Alan Davis said firefighters found flames shooting out of the windows when they arrived at 1:35 p.m. and it took 15 minutes to get the blaze under control.
Fire officials said the home was a total loss.
