MOUNT VERNON — Chauntilia Khelice Adaway of Smithville qualified for the Dean’s List at Brewton-Parker College of Mount Vernon, Georgia, for the fall 2008 semester, announced Dr. Ron Melton, provost.
Qualifying students were enrolled in 12 or more hours and earned a grade point average of 3.6 or better.
Brewton-Parker College is the only accredited four-year Christian college in south Georgia. Based in Mount Vernon, it has external learning campuses and centers in Baxley, Glennville, Liberty County, Newnan, Norman Park and Savannah.

Sumter Gymnastics bring home first places
The Sumter County Gymnastics Academy team has entered its competition season for 2012. They attended two meets in January and brought home first places awards in both.
