Some of you may have seen a report last night on WALB-TV in Albany concerning residents living in the Georgia's West Central Health District who contracted the A H1N1 virus (Swine Flu). The news report said that one of the cases involved a student attending "Boys and Girls Camp" at Georgia Southwestern State University in Sumter County.
That is incorrect.
According to officials from the Public Health district office in Columbus, A H1N1 was confirmed in a Sumter County resident. However, that person was attending Boys and Girls State Camp at Georgia Southern University in Georgia's Southeast Health District. At last report, the Sumter County resident who contracted the virus is at home recovering well.
