PLAINS — Beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 4, in the City Park in Plains will be the 2nd Annual July 4th Tea Party, sponsored by the Tea Party Patriots, and the public is invited.
According to Mike Sabot, a coordinator for the event, which is being held in conjunction with similar events to be held in Albany and other communities in southwest Georgia.
Organizers say the purpose of the event is to make citizens' voices heard, especially by national leaders.
Attorney Bill Moorehead III, of Albany, will be a special speaker as well the Rev. James Brown. There will be gospel music and games for children.
Participants are encouraged to bring their picnic baskets, and blankets and chairs.
