Boys & Girls Club banquet was
wonderful
This is a "Thank You" message to each of you who attended and/or supported the 11th annual Boys & Girls Club of Sumter County Steak & Stake Banquet. I believe a wonderful time was had by all. Our speaker for the event, Ms. Paula Deen, was a hit, telling each of us, and more to the kids, to never give up on your dreams and don't let anyone tell you that you can't or won't make it.
A special thanks goes to Ms. Tammy Jones, for her work with the kids in putting on the entertainment: Boot Scootin' Boogie by the Rustling Cowgirls (from the clubs).
Thanks to all of the media coverage, to help the club spread our mission of the club.
Last but not least, a thanks to our 39th President Jimmy and Mrs. Carter for their undying support to the club, to Ms. Ivy Nunn (chair and Ms. Susan Ruckman (co-chair) and the S & S committee for put the program together. All funds raised will remain in Sumter County to help with the core programs to help and keep our clubs “A Positive Place for Kids"
GSW and Aramark, a special "thanks” to you both.
I know there are many more helping hands that I didn't mention by name. You know who you are, and for your part, you are very much appreciated (blame my head and not my heart)!
As I mentioned at the event, whether you bought a corporate table, individual ticket or supported this event in any other way, the second word in "Steak & Stake" proves to the kids of our community, that you are and will to be STAKEholders for them.
You are always welcome to drop by our clubs to see the kids in action. It will warm your heart! Also stay tuned for more events: next will be our Silent Auction in the fall!
Save the date for next year's banquet, June 17, 2010!
Again, thanks! May God continue to bless each of you!
