Georgia Power Foundation contributes to SGTC Foundation TechForce Drive

AMERICUS — Mike Donnelly, area nanager for Georgia Power Co. in Americus presented Sparky Reeves, president of South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) with a $2,500 donation to the SGTC Foundation.

The donation supports the SGTC Foundation TechForce 2009 annual fund drive and will be utilized to support the college and its mission of education and workforce development.

“We appreciate the support that Georgia Power has shown South Georgia Technical College, and this donation is just one of the many ways in which Georgia Power and South Georgia Technical College have worked together to provide individuals, businesses and industries in our six county service area as well as throughout Georgia, with excellent educational and career opportunities,” said Reeves as he accepted the donation.

“On behalf of the Georgia Power Foundation, it is my pleasure to give back to South Georgia Technical College,” said Donnelly. “SGTC is a true partner to Georgia Power and this entire community.”

The Department of Technical and Adult Education will match contributions for equipment made to the SGTC Foundation TechForce 2009 drive, dollar for dollar.
