AMERICUS—The South Georgia Technical College chapter of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) inducted 34 new members in a ceremony in the John M. Pope Industrial Technology Center on the Americus campus recently. Mrs. Carolyn Myers, South Georgia Tech’s NTHS Advisory, presided over the ceremony.
In order to receive this honor, students must be nominated by an instructor, be a full-time student at SGTC for at least two complete quarters, and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5.

SGTC President Sparky Reeves welcomed friends, family members, faculty, and staff members who attended the ceremony. Reeves addressed the inductees by saying, “This honor means you’ve excelled. You’re the best of the best we have here, and congratulations to each of you.” Raymond Holt, Dean for Academic Affairs, recognized the students for their achievements and gave the invocation.
Carolyn Myers, NTHS Advisor and Medical Assisting instructor at SGTC, stated the purpose of the NTHS and followed with a candle lighting ceremony, assisted by three of the new inductees.
