Southwest Georgia Missionary Baptist Association

All moderators, pastors, youth directors, officer sand members are invited to the youth workshop for Union No. 5 at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Old Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. C.L. Order of the Eastern Star

Tenth annual L.A. Fuse Scholarship Benefit is at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Magnolia Manor Banquet Room with the theme “Aiming High and Staying Focused.” Several scholarships will be awarded to deserving students pursuing college degrees.



Americus Sumter County Movement Remembered Committee

A weekend of celebration and thanksgiving begins at 6 p.m. Nov. 27 at Union Tabernacle Baptist Church on Ga. Highway 30 and continues at 8 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Windsor Hotel (Sumter County Room. Donations $15/in advance, $20/at door. All proceeds go to scholarship fund.



Community Thanksgiving Services

The schedule for the annual Thanksgiving services is 7 p.m. Monday at United Holiness Church, 901 Hale Drive, with the Rev. Lewis Overholt; 7 p.m. Tuesday ay Americus Mennonite Fellowship, 409 E. Hill Sr. with Evangelist B. Snipes, and 7 p.m.,. Wednesday at Grace Community Church, 193 Southland Road with the Rev. Norris Harris. Everyone is welcome.



Friendship Missionary Baptist Church

Annual Release of the Fathers Conference is Dec. 2-5. “Talk with the Father” with Pastor Melvin McCluster is at 7 p.m. Dec. 2; “A Glimpse of God’s Glory’ with Minister Gwen Harris is 7 p.m. Dec. 3; Deacon Eric Bryant at 7 p.m. Dec. 4; “A Night of Celebration” Christmas Party is 6 p.m. Dec. 5 at Georgia Southwestern State University Student Center. Tickets available at Unique Boutique and the church, $15 each.



Mount Salem Baptist Church

Men’s and Women’s Day Program is at 11 a.m. Sunday with regular worship service. Speakers include Sister Lorraine Little of Ideal and Deacon Stanley White of Bethlehem Baptists Church, Plains. The public is invited.



Springhill Baptist Church

Usher and Mission program are celebrated at 4 p.m. Sunday. Evangelist Brenda Johnson speaks and the Rev. Jesse Watts brings the message.



Shipp Chapel Missionary Baptist Church

Man’s and Women’s Day is celebrated at 9 a.m. Sunday, along with regular services. All men are asked to wear black and all women are asked to wear red. The Rev. Ferlin Tyson delivers the message.



Night of Worship

St. John Baptist Church

The annual Fall Revival is 7:30 p.m. Nov. 23-25. Guest evangelist is the Rev. Johnny Leggett of Albany. Everyone is invited.

Greater New Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church

Pastor Terrell Carter of Poulan is in charge of the 8:30 a.m. service Sunday. The public is invited to attend.



First Assembly of God

Homecoming is celebrated at 10 a.m. Sunday. Pastor Arthur Greene from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., brings the message.



New Shady Grove Baptist Church

The Youth Department invites everyone to their youth program at 7:30 p.m. today. The Rev. Derrick Calhoun is guest minister.



Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Church

The second annual “Sons of Thunder” is observed at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Clarence Jordan Center on Church Street. This year’s theme is “Saving Souls and Changing Lives through Preaching.” The messengers are the Rev. Larry Sims, Union Tabernacle Baptist Church; the Rev. Gerald Harris, Mayfield Zion/St. James A.M.E. churches; Deacon Victor Hall, Ebenezer Baptist Church; Deacon James Cutts, New Zion Baptist Church, DeSoto. Pastor Nathaniel Veal of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church serves as worship leader. All are welcome.

Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church

A “Celebrate Christ” Holiday Worship Program is at 4 p.m. Dec. 6. Deacon Dwight Harris, member of the Bethesda’s Ushers Ministry, is speaker. The community is invited. Everyone is asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be given to those in need. The program is sponsored by Bethesda’s Ushers’ Ministry.



Andersonville

Ebenezer Baptist Church

Everyone is invited to a special fellowship program “Four Gospel Writers” 3 p.m. Sunday.

Zion Hope Baptist Church

Thanksgiving service is at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 2 with the Rev. Ezekiel Holley of Dawson as speaker.

Lebanon Baptist Church

The Senior Ushers’ Board Ministry celebrates it 87th anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday during regular church services. Brother Michael Stewart speaks on the duties of an usher. The Rev. Hosie Waters delivers the sermon. Gleaner captains are Brother J.C. Bryant Jr., Sister Alice Ruth Muff and Brother Clarence Slappey.

The Senior Choir Ministry hosts Thanksgiving Morning Sunrise Services on at 6 a.m. Nov. 26 when the Rev. Hosie Water delivers the sermon. Breakfast is served afterwards.



Preston

New Life Temple Ministries

A Thanksgiving luncheon is at noon Saturday. Minister Priscilla Bridges from Freedom Tabernacle of Faith brings the word and food will be served afterward. For more information call 938-0096.
