AMERICUS —
South Georgia Technical College's (SGTC) Crisp County Center emergency medical technology (EMT) students recently visited the high fidelity simulation lab in the McClain Center at the main campus in Americus.
The EMT students were able to interact with the state of the art mannequins to test their skills of patient assessment and treatment. The students also participated in mock scenarios using SGTC's ambulance to evaluate their comprehension of patient assessment of both trauma and medical patients.
The SGTC current EMT class will complete its nine-month training on June 14, and will graduate at 6:30 p.m. June 15 at the Crisp County Center. Registration for the next EMT class is currently underway. That class will start with the semester transition on Aug. 25 in Cordele.
Any questions about the program can be answered by contacting Matt Hunt, South Georgia Tech EMT instructor at 229-271-5189 or 229-271-4040.
