PRESTON —
Former Edison Police Chief Jason Wilkins was arrested Wednesday morning by the Webster County Sheriff's Office and charged with false imprisonment, simple battery/Family Violence Act, theft by taking, first-degree criminal damage to property, aggravated stalking and criminal trespass.
Wilkins was booked into the Sumter County Jail following the arrest Wednesday. Sumter County Sheriff Pete Smith said several warrants were issued for Wilkins’ arrest in the past couple of days and authorities in the area have been on the lookout for him.
Wilkins lives at 270 Cemetery Road, Preston.
