AMERICUS —
Recently, a group of friends joined other travelers sponsored by Eastman Citizen Bank and Trust for an exciting tour of the Northeast. Fortunately, they were just one week before the storm Sandy struck. The weather was just beautiful and everyone had a wonderful time enjoying the interesting sights and being with each other.
Among New York sights visited were Times Square, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Lower Manhattan, the financial district, Ground Zero, Battery Park and the Statue of Liberty.
Later, dinner was at the well-known restaurant, B. Smith’s.
Three nights were spent in Atlantic City. Everyone enjoyed the famous Boardwalk and all the fun things associated with the resort area.
One day was spent in Philadelphia, Pa., visiting Independence Hall, Betsy Ross’ house, Benjamin Franklin’s grave, historic Christ Church, the Liberty Bell and a trip to the top of “Rocky Balboa Steps” at the Museum of Art.
The beautiful fall foliage and a quick stop in Baltimore, Md., highlighted the return trip home.
