AMERICUS —
Americus locals will soon experience a new type of whole-health fitness just in time for their New Year’s resolutions as Reps Real Life Fitness gym opens downtown on Saturday, Dec. 15.
The new fitness center will also offer free beginner classes as a temporary trial membership. The one-week free membership offer includes moderate workouts, instruction on proper technique, and a fitness level evaluation.
Reps is not your typical gym experience, but instead distinguishes itself by offering the guidance and motivation of personal training in a group setting as well as nutritional counseling for a much more personalized experience.
As certified trainers, Reps owners Logan Layfield and Stephen Austin, both Southland Academy graduates, will focus on each participant, keeping them motivated and ensuring that proper technique is used for each movement.
“Reps is about total fitness. We train with emphasis on natural, functional movement to develop your body according to how it actually moves. And we do it with intensity. Everyone can benefit from this style of training as it prepares you for life.”
"With the type of fitness that we provide, you’ll not only be strong as an ox but be able to run fast and far. Your athleticism will be pushed to new heights as you become quicker, more agile and more explosive. You will look good. You will feel good. You will be good,” Layfield said.
This new approach to overall health provides customers with a unique fitness experience that is both fun and effective.
Since these sessions involve high intensity training within a small group setting, participants usually develop close ties with each other, giving the workout more of a team feeling than most normal personal training sessions.
In addition to their special introductory rates and family plans, Reps Real Life Fitness will also offer discounts to military personnel, firefighters, and law enforcement. The programs offered by Reps are ideal for men and women of all ages and fitness levels, and workouts are tailored to each individual’s physical fitness level and personal goals.
The Reps Grand Opening celebration from 1-6 p.m. on Dec. 15 will offer free merchandise and nutritional food for anyone who wants to stop by and find out more about Reps’ whole health fitness programs. The grand opening will take place at the Reps facility located at 329 West Forsyth St., on the right just before Farmer’s Seed and Feed.
Following the Dec. 15 opening, Reps Real Life Fitness will be open from 6:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Saturdays by demand. Small classes of 8-12 people will take place at 6:30, 7:30, and 8:30 a.m. and at 4:30, 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 p.m. with an open workout period between scheduled sessions.
Times and schedules are subject to change and more information can always be found by calling Layfield at 229-942-2318, by visiting the Reps Real Life Fitness facility on Forsyth Street or by checking their Facebook page at Facebook.com/RepsRLF.
Reps Real Life Fitness owners Austin and Layfield are both Level 1 Certified CrossFit Instructors. In addition, Austin is currently a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT). Layfield will soon be a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer (NASM-CPT) by the middle of January as well.
Both trainers look forward to assisting Reps members in meeting their personal fitness goals and attaining that dream physique.
