Mrs. Laverne T. McGuire, 88, passed away Monday morning, Jan. 30, 2012, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at Central Baptist Church in Americus with the Rev. Hugh DeLoach and Dr. Brian Myers officiating, Graveside services and burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Ga. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, and at other times the family residence of Sandra M. and Phil Curtis, 104 Woodcrest Court, Americus.
