OGLETHORPE —
Officer Richard Angelo Cobb, 37, of West Glessner Street in Americus, passed away Thursday morning, June 14, 2012, while on patrol with the Oglethorpe Police Department.
Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St. A private interment will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery in Jacksonville, Fla.
The family will receive friends between noon and 2 p.m. Monday at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St.
A native of Jacksonville, Fla., he was born July 10, 1974, a son of Donnie Clyde Cobb and Frances Angela Andrea Cobb. Officer Cobb was of the Methodist faith and was employed by the Oglethorpe Police Department. He was POST certified in both Georgia and Florida.
Family members include his wife, Leslie Hope Cobb of Americus; son Dustin Scott Abel and his fiancèe Katelyn Morgan of Douglas, Ga.; daughter Courtney Lauren Cobb of Palm Coast, Fla.; brother Jason Cobb and his wife April of Jacksonville; and nephew Lucius Cobb.

Funeral services for Lt. Col. (retired) Uriah McGrady of Atlanta, Ga., formerly of Smithville, Ga., will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2013, at Green Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Hosie Waters will officiate and burial will follow in the Andersonville National Cemetery.The remains will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the services.
