AMERICUS —
Funeral services for Mr. Joe Carter Jr. will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Friendship Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. H. C. Wilson will officiate and burial will follow in the Eastview Cemetery. The remains will lie in repose at the church onr hour prior to the services.
Mr. Joe Carter,Jr. was born on May 10, 1935, in Sumter County, Georgia, to the parentage of the late Mr. Joe Carter and the late Mrs. Sara Hill Carter. Joe, as he was affectionately called, was employed with Georgia Power for many years.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a son, Mr. Kenneth Jerome (Valerie) Carter; a sister, Ms. Leola Carter; a brother, Mr. Wille Ben (Minister Vernell) Carter; one aunt, Ms. Emma Hill; one grandchild and one great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jakob Colton Stubbs, age 10, of Ellaville, Ga., died early Wednesday morning at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger in Chattanooga, Tenn. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2013, on the Ellaville/Schley Co. Recreation Baseball Field No. 2 with burial to follow in the Ellaville Cemetery. Pastor Will Rayburn and Brother Troy Fripp will officiate.

Dr. Augusto Lopez, 84, passed away Monday evening, May 20, 2013, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.
A funeral mass is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Clif Marquis officiating.
