Emma Battle Hodges Horne

AMERICUS — Emma Battle Hodges Horne, age 74, of 141 Country Lane Rd., died at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany April 5, 2012. A native of Americus, she was born July 22, 1937, the daughter of the late John Randolph and Mattie Louise Horne Hodges, Sr. Mrs. Horne was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Daughters of American Revolution, Honorary member of Junior Service League and United Daughters of Confederacy.

Graveside services will be held Monday, at 11 a.m.  April 9, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. William Hall officiating. The family will receive friends at the family residence, 141 Country Lane Rd. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Perfect Care, 114 Sullivan Dr., Americus, GA  31709 or to Salem United Methodist Church, 903 Upper River Rd., Americus, Ga. 31709.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, James F. Horne of Americus; three daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Joe McKenzie of Milton, Emilie and Kevin Wille of Americus and Lisa and Bruce Shiver of Camilla; two brothers, John Fox Hodges of Arabi, AL and Warren F. Hodges, Sr. of Americus; a sister, Martha Cullen Hodges Teele of Albany; and two grandchildren, Austin Wille and Bradley Wille.
