AMERICUS — Mr. Larry Donald Williams age 63, passed away at his residence Friday afternoon, January 18, 2013. A Memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Williams was born February 18, 1949 in Americus, Ga. the son of the late Harold Alex Williams and Fannie Mae McCord Williams. He was a hairstylist for over 40 years and attended First Assembly of God Church in Americus, Ga. Larry’s mother Fannie Williams was a founding member of this church over 65 years ago. Larry grew up singing in this church and participated in numerous singing competitions throughout the state in his younger years. In his later years Larry went about God’s work quietly behind the scenes, cleaning the church in which he grew up and supported many ministries within, as well as outside of the church.

Mr. Williams is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law Linda Campbell [Jeff] of Plains, Ga. and Dora Crisp of Trenton, Ga. brother Curtis Williams of Georgetown, Ga. sister-in-law Doris Williams of Dothan, Ala. Also surviving are special niece Selinn Legg and several other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister-in-law, L.C. Williams, Jace Williams [Jerri] and Freddie R. Williams.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. William Hall officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Marvin Smith, 885 Old Andersonville Road, Andersonville.

Marie Israel-Manry died on May 6, 2013, at her home, Magnolia Manor in Americus, Ga. A visitation will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2013, at Harvey Funeral Home in Dawson. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11 at Bronwood Baptist Church, followed by interment at the Williams Cemetery near Smithville. A memorial service will then be held at 3:30 p.m. at Magnolia Manor.
