AMERICUS —
Odyssey of the Mind, a long-standing tradition at Sumter County Elementary School, is a world-wide program encouraging students to think creatively and work in teams of seven to solve problems. Many faculty members stayed after school to help judge tryouts, and a special thank you goes out to two community members, Karen Willis and Mulkey McMichael, for donating their time.Among the 14 members are six fifth graders, three fourth graders and five third graders. These students are dedicating their collaborative efforts to writing scripts, designing sets and costumes, and building props. Shown are Team A members Joshua Ballarapu, Joy Charles, Adrianna Daniel, Laura Fisk, Andy Kuipers, James McAllister and Isaiah Mitchell-Edge. Team B includes Merari Aparicio, Lilly Bacon, Miranda Green, Teigan Pepito, Anna Rees, James Schopen-Davis and Passion Thomas.
