AMERICUS —
Mrs. Mary L. Daniel, age 68, of 406 Peggy Ann Drive, Americus died Monday afternoon, Aug. 30, 2010 at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 at Oakland Church of God in Oakland Community with the Rev. Bo Curlee officiating burial to follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening, Sept. 1, 2010 at the funeral home and at other times the family residence at 406 Peggy Ann Drive, Americus. Serving as active pallbearers are Stephen Studdard, Thomas Driver, Avner Mazariegos, Brian Underwood, Danny Underwood, Todd Studdard and Bob Underwood.
Mrs. Daniel was born April 20, 1942 in Buena Vista, Ga., the daughter of the late John William Underwood and Eva Mae Bassett Underwood. Mrs. Daniel had worked for Manhattan Shirt Company formerly of Americus as a seamstress and then Collins and Aikman as assembly before her retirement. She was of the Church of God faith.
Mrs. Daniel is survived by her beloved husband Wanzer Daniel Jr. of Americus; son and daughter-in-law Mike Daniel and Cindy of Perry; three sisters and brothers-in-law Eunice Studdard and Jerome of Americus, Jean Smith of Americus and Dottie Stringfellow and Robert also of Americus; a brother and sister-in-law Bobby Underwood and Brenda of Americus. Also surviving are two grandchildren Tyler Daniel and Nicholas Daniel of Perry; and a number of nieces and nephews.
