ELLAVILLE —
Students in Julia Scoggins’ class at Schley County Elementary School recently read the book, “Turkey Trouble”, about a turkey that manages to escape being the main course at the Thanksgiving dinner. After the story, students were given the assignment to disguise their own turkey in hopes that it would also escape being the main course on Thanksgiving. Students were extremely creative in disguising their turkeys and writing their turkey’s master plan to escape Thanksgiving. Turkey disguises included a rock star, deer hunter, football player, a police officer, cow girl, rainbow, Christmas wreath, wrestler, a new student at the local school, and an American flag. The writings and the turkeys showed such an array of imagination and creativity.
