Schley 2nd grade learns about 1st Thanksgiving

ELLAVILLE — The second-grade class of Angie Brooks at Schley County Elementary School recently completed a study about the “The First Thanksgiving.”

Students were exposed to many books, pictures and videos about this special event.

In order to apply what they learned, each wrote a newspaper article to The Plymouth Times. This fictional newspaper, created by the class, offered stories from the point of view of the Native Americans. Students enjoyed writing their articles, as well as developing illustrations to accompany their interesting literary creations.
