AMERICUS —
South Georgia Technical College’s (SGTC) National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) recently held a membership rally in an effort to encourage more SGTC students to join the honor society.
“We are seeking to encourage those students who are qualified to join NTHS by becoming a member,” said NTHS Advisor Raven Payne. “Eligibility for membership of NTHS requires a student to have a 3.7GPA, pursue a diploma or degree, have a recommendation from an advisor or instructor, fill out an application, and pay a $25 membership fee.”
Members of the NTHS are among the top performing students in the nation, and an invitation to join NTHS represents an important educational milestone — the highest national award for excellence in career and technical education. Membership in the NTHS enhances student resumes, and members wear a special sash at graduation.
Earlier this year, seven new members were inducted into SGTC’s honor society, and advisors hope to recruit even more in the coming year. The Society has recognized outstanding student achievement in workforce education since 1984. Over 1,500 schools and colleges throughout the U.S. and its territories are affiliated with the NTHS. For more information, visit www.nths.org.
If you wish to join the NTHS, call Mary Cross 229-931-2317, Raven Payne -229-931-2568, or Sandhya Muljibhai 229-931-2553 in Americus, or Katrice Taylor 229-271-4068 in Cordele.
