Your Opinion - Likes the New ATR

Likes the new ATR

In the last year, I have enjoyed purchasing my Americus Times-Recorder. The local interest stories and pictures, i.e. especially the ones focusing on children, senior adults and the latest of In The Yard, are some that we enjoy greatly. I have read a number of letters to the editor praising Becky Holland, your staff writer, for her efforts. She is a treasure for this newspaper and the community. Is it really Becky Holland that should be praised, or perhaps the powers at the helm of the Times-Recorder for bringing Holland on staff and allowing her the freedom to get out in the public and write these stories? Either way, I give you all a standing ovation for these stories. Keep them coming. We like reading them.

As a former marketing instructor at a community college in Florida, I must also say that the last few issues of the Times-Recorder (since last Wednesday most certainly) have been very appealing. The new designer, if there is one, or maybe it is a new design, has captured the concept very well -- the layouts since then have been very appealing. You certainly have discovered how to sell the paper.

Might I suggest shorter headlines though? Just a thought!

Congratulations to you and your team for bringing the ATR forward and for truly making it a community newspaper worth reading and buying.

Sincerely

Katherine Smith
